Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can anyone go into hypnosis?
Short answer is yes. There are only 2 requirements to going into hypnosis. 1. You want to. 2. You can communicate.
  • Does hypnosis work on Zoom?
Yes, it works very well, as long as you have an uninterrupted space and comfortable furniture.
  • Will hypnosis uncover memories?
Hypnosis sometimes allows freer access to long stored memories. The point of looking at memories, however, is to identify problematic patterns, gain perspectives from that, and then transform those thought loops into ones that serve. As Milt Erikson said, "people don't come to therapy to change their pasts. They come to change their future".
  • Am I conscious in hypnosis?
Yes. You are always conscious and always able to access your conscious mind to formulate sentences. Your brainwaves will be in a frequency slightly different than the typical waking state, usually in the theta-delta frequency range, where you have access to your subconscious mind which you will experience in terms of pictures, sensations, scenery, emotions, and memories.
  • Can you make me do something I don't want to do?
No. We cannot make you do anything you don't want to do. (BTW...you know the folks barking like dogs in the Hypnosis stage shows? Part of them wants to do that, to make their friends laugh or to let loose or some similar reason). And so what we do is we look at the internal drivers making you do things to make it easier for you to do what do DO want to do and to make that stick for a lifetime. Our clients come to us to create new neural pathways for implementing new habits and thoughts. We replace what is causing unwanted behavior with the patterning for your wanted thoughts and behaviors, and you have control of this process in every level of hypnosis. You decide what you really, deeply want, and hypnosis helps you acheive it.

Allow yourself to see what you don’t allow yourself to see.”
– Milton H. Erickson
